Drain snakes are the safest way to resolve clogs without damaging piping. They are available nearly everywhere. Drain snakes can be tricky to use the first time as you will most likely have to navigate the snake through the curved pipe in the toilet. There are plenty of DIY help videos on YouTube, and with a little bit of elbow grease and the right concentration, you will find that having a plumbing snake on hand is an excellent tool to help break up small clogs or a slow draining toilet.

Bio-Clean Liquid Drain Cleaner

If you don’t have the will to use a drain snake, try Bio-Clean first. Unlike most other liquid drain cleaners, Bio-Clean doesn’t use harsh chemicals. Instead, it uses naturally occurring bacteria that can break down matter clogged in your drain. The bacteria will fully dissolve whatever is in your drain, unlike most other drain cleaners. Hair Catcher

Taking preventative measures to protecting your pipes from clogging of hair is better than paying potentially hundreds of dollars for it down the road. Any hair-catcher product is a vital part of drain care. They are useful for showers and sinks. Also, remember not to do any major trimming in the shower or over the sink! Long hairs are the biggest culprits of clogged drains.

One of the most common household repairs is a broken garbage disposal. When glass or hard metal gets caught in a disposal, it can cause it to break. Take it from us: clogged sinks are gross.
