When You Should Call a Plumber

By February 7, 2019No Comments

Sometimes we push off projects around the house to do another day. However, anything related to plumbing should be dealt with immediately. A simple leak can amount to a considerable ordeal. Here are some of the most important signs that it’s time to call a plumber before the situation escalates.

Low Water Pressure

When you encounter a sink or a shower head with trickling water, the cause may not be apparent. Low water pressure can be due to clogs, leaks, or city supply issues. You may be tempted to solve the problem yourself but be careful. Attempting a DIY solution may escalate the issue or cause damage to your home. It’s best to call a professional plumber who will recognize the problem and have a suitable solution.

No Hot Water

When you turn on the hot water, and none comes out, it most likely is due to a malfunction of the water heater. Water heater issues can range from a simple breakdown of an interior component to a whole system failure. No need to fret, hire a plumber right away to asses the situation and proceed with the best resolution.

Where is the Water Coming From?

For the most part, we know where our water is coming from. We turn on the faucet to wash our hands or take our glass to the fridge for some ice cold water. Unfortunately, you may wander into the restroom and see water accumulated around the base of the toilet or dripping from the ceiling. This is not ok. When you see water where it should not be, it’s time to call a plumber.

Damaged Pipes

Out here in West Texas, a lookout must be kept for severe winter weather. If the temperature drops low enough, pipes may break or crack. They can cause significant flooding and cost thousands of dollars in water damage. Act fast and call the plumber. They can pinpoint the source of the leak and begin to treat the situation.

Large Projects

When attempting large plumbing projects enlist the help of a plumber. Trying a rigorous project without experience or knowledge can result in broken fixtures or wasted efforts. A professional plumber has the expertise, tools, and manpower to install what you want.
